Horizon Single Door with Square Serrated Pulls & Sidelite

This modern entry door is composed of a pivot door and one sidelite. The nonsymmetric combination is more sophisticated than a conventional double door. We used the rule of thirds to make the sidelite about half of the door width. Pivot doors make this ratio possible due to the extra pivot door width. This pivot door is 60” wide, and the sidelite is 30” wide. A conventionally hinged door is typically 36” wide. This width significantly limits the design opportunities available when using a conventionally hinged door. The best a conventional door can offer, in active door space, are single or double door configurations. A single pivot door can provide as much active space as a pair of conventional double doors. The obvious choice is a “pivot door” for today’s modern homeowner. Modern Steel Door clients agree that the double door was great for their grandparents. Just not for them. Who knows the double door might make a come back someday.
