The Wave Door bends a modern design. Inspired by the waves of the ocean, this modern wood and glass door design introduces interesting curves into a primarily linear setting. While filled with wood in the example above, the area of the door underneath the wave can also be filled with either glass or metal as well.
Wood is a spectacular material to use in this area. Wood creates an organic beauty through its varying tones and grain. The wood species used in the primary image above is White Oak hardwood. This wood species contains cool beige and tan tones with a subtle grain throughout. Clients can choose from our collection of fine hardwoods or provide their own wood for us to install on their modern wood and glass doors.
Door hardware is a critical and transformative detail of the front door. The classic Wave Door pulls follow the curved trend seen throughout the design and is a clear point of interest. The door pulls can be finished in various ways. The set of hardware in the primary image above is finished with a Brushed Stainless Wave Pull Cover. For a more subdued look, as seen in the video above, a simple black powder-coated pull is ideal.
A stunning front door, like this modern wood and glass door, raises the standard for the rest of the home. Secondary to the front door, other critical doors within the home likewise call for an aesthetic edge. Incorporating more than sheer functionality into these doors, such as that of a casita, works to elevate the rest of the home and create consistency. Adding pivot doors to other key entryways in your home extends the attention invested in the front door to the rest of the home.
With over 20 years of experience, our design team is skilled in helping homeowners identify designs to achieve their vision for their front door. Like our clients, we value detail and passion.
